Gpakit

Effective date: 2026-04-17

This Privacy Policy explains how Gpakit ("we", "us", "our") collects, uses, and safeguards information when you visit Gpakit at gpakit.com (the "Site"). By using the Site you agree to the practices described below. If you do not agree, please discontinue use of the Site.

1. Information We Collect

We have built Gpakit to operate without collecting personal information directly from you. The categories of information we do receive are described below.

1.1 Information you provide

The Site does not require registration or account creation. Values you enter into calculators are processed entirely in your browser and are not transmitted to our servers or stored by us. We receive information only if you choose to email us using the address in the Contact section, in which case we receive the email address and message you send.

1.2 Information collected automatically

When you visit any website, including this one, your browser sends standard technical information such as IP address, approximate geographic region, browser type and version, operating system, referring URL, pages viewed, and timestamps. Our hosting provider may retain this data in access logs for a limited period for security, debugging, and abuse prevention.

1.3 Information from cookies and similar technologies

We and authorised third parties (described below) use cookies, local storage, pixels, and similar technologies to operate the Site, measure traffic, and serve advertising. See Section 4.

2. How We Use Information

  • To deliver, maintain, and improve the Site and its calculators.
  • To understand aggregated, anonymised usage patterns so we can prioritise new calculators and fix issues.
  • To display advertising that helps fund the Site (see Section 5).
  • To detect, prevent, and address fraud, abuse, or security incidents.
  • To respond to you if you contact us.
  • To comply with legal obligations.

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it for cross-context behavioural advertising except as described in the advertising section below.

3. Legal Bases for Processing (EEA / UK Visitors)

If you are located in the European Economic Area or the United Kingdom, we rely on the following legal bases under the GDPR / UK GDPR:

  • Legitimate interests — for aggregated analytics, fraud prevention, and keeping the Site running securely.
  • Consent — for advertising and measurement cookies that are not strictly necessary, where required by law. You can withdraw consent at any time by clearing cookies and adjusting the controls referenced in Section 4.
  • Compliance with legal obligations — where processing is required by applicable law.

4. Cookies and Similar Technologies

We classify cookies into three groups:

  • Strictly necessary — enable the Site to function (for example, remembering the selected language or calculator inputs in your current tab). These do not require consent.

You can control cookies directly through your browser settings. Most browsers let you view, delete, and block cookies on a per-site basis, or enable "Do Not Track" signals. Blocking all cookies may prevent some features of the Site from working.

5. Your Privacy Rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the following rights regarding personal information we hold about you. Because we do not directly collect personal information from you (other than what you email us voluntarily), the scope of these rights is usually limited in our case, but we will honour any valid request we are able to fulfil.

EEA / UK residents (GDPR / UK GDPR)

  • Right of access, rectification, and erasure.
  • Right to restrict or object to processing.
  • Right to data portability.
  • Right to withdraw consent at any time where processing is based on consent.
  • Right to lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.

California residents (CCPA / CPRA)

  • Right to know what personal information is collected, used, shared, or sold.
  • Right to delete personal information collected from you.
  • Right to correct inaccurate personal information.
  • Right to opt out of the "sale" or "sharing" of personal information. We do not sell personal information for money; however, the use of advertising cookies described in Section 5 may be treated as "sharing" under the CPRA. You can opt out using the mechanisms listed in Section 5.
  • Right to non-discrimination for exercising your rights.

To exercise any right, email [email protected] with enough detail to identify the request. We will respond within the time frame required by applicable law.

6. Children's Privacy

The Site is intended for a general adult audience and is not directed to children under the age of 13 (or under 16 in the EEA/UK). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us at [email protected] and we will delete it promptly.

7. Data Retention

We retain server access logs for up to 30 days for security and debugging purposes. Analytics data is retained for the default period set by the analytics provider (typically 14 months) in aggregated, non-identifying form. Emails you send us are kept only as long as necessary to respond to your inquiry, and then archived or deleted.

8. Data Security

We use HTTPS across the Site and rely on reputable hosting and analytics providers that maintain industry-standard security controls. No method of transmission over the Internet is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

9. International Data Transfers

The Site is accessible worldwide. The third-party services we use (Google Analytics, Google AdSense) may transfer and process your information in the United States and other countries that may have data-protection laws different from those in your country of residence. Where required, such transfers are protected by appropriate safeguards such as Standard Contractual Clauses or equivalent mechanisms.

10. Third-Party Links

The Site may contain links to third-party websites that are not operated by us. This Privacy Policy does not cover those sites, and we are not responsible for their content or privacy practices. We encourage you to read the privacy policy of any site you visit.

11. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices or for legal, operational, or regulatory reasons. The updated version will be indicated by a revised "Effective date" at the top of this page. Material changes will be highlighted in a banner on the Site for at least 14 days. Continued use of the Site after an update indicates acceptance of the revised policy.
